At AB Rundvirke, as buyers of logs and producers of joinery-wood, we are committed to pursuing our business activities in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.We strive to do our utmost to:
- comply with existing statutes and to subscribe to PEFC Council requirements and objectives (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes).
- ensure that as far as possible we do not purchase any logs from either protected forests or from the key-biotopes referred to in PEFC’s Key-biotopes Policy.
- purchase the greater part of the logs that we buy from environmentally-certified forests and work to increase the proportion thereof.
- ensure that the company never uses logs stored in water or sprinkled, and to reduce the secretion of heavy metals.
- work to reduce the level of carbon monoxide by transporting logs and finished products by rail where possible.
- work to re-use our residual products and grade them where possible.
- run our operations and carry out improvements in a manner designed to reduce the overall impact on the environment.

Raw Material
Swedish timber is unique!
Rundvirke Skog AB is our in-house raw material company. The first stage of the production process takes place in the forest; the skilled staff from the forestry department at Rundvirke Skog select the cants from which unedged stammware is to be sawn. The selection process is based upon exacting quality standards. Vital factors such as the impact on the environment and the protection of natural resources are also taken into account.
As a result of its unparalleled access to quality Swedish cants from the best region in the country, Rundvirke sets the standard for optimum quality and guaranteed deliveries.
